Faithful to its core mission of being a crucible for meetings and exchanges, Zongo Bluezone hosted on August 29, the closing ceremony of the “International Festival of Pearls of Here and Elsewhere”, organized by the Association “The House of Pearls.”
According to Sandra Adjaho, initiator of the event:”Pearls are an important part of African cultural heritage.”
Representatives of Benin Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of Ghana attended the event. For the Representative of Ghana Embassy, Mr. Kwameh, “Benin and Ghana have in common a genuine heritage. So we must help each other to make known to the world this African wealth. ”
“It’s incredible to see what one is can achieve with pearls. I was pleasantly surprised by this discovery and I intend to adopt it in my dressing style for the output is really beautiful. I am proud of culture in Benin” told us Adele, one of the guests.
Paintings made from clay bead jewelry, such as the one entitled “Beyond imagination” were presented to the public. Artists like John Arcadius, known by Beninese public, performed on stage.
“Music and fashion are two closely related disciplines, which surely justifies the presence of this talented musician with us this evening,” explained Jean-Paul, a Blueliner, delighted with the show.
