Table tennis, basketball, volleyball, petanque … Zongo Bluezone already offers a popular variety of sports very much appreciated by members. Since 24 June, it has expanded its range of services with a new sporting discipline: karate-shotokan -ryu.
Now it is possible to practice karate twice a week on Zongo Bluezone, Wednesday and Sunday. Members can take advantage of this unexpected opportunity to learn. Master Eric LEBRUN, black belt 4th Dan, will teach them this new discipline
The basketball court of the Bluezone was used as dojo for a first demonstration. They were about twenty girls and boys who attended the training, all dressed in white kimono on which was carefully tied a white belt for some, red, blue or green for others
The first performance has attracted the interest of local residents. A crowd gathered in the alleys bordering the Bluezone, looked intensely at this demonstration. Beyond the show, the karate programme is a real opportunity that Zongo Bluezone offers Blueliners and youth to grow, learn and develop. That’s what the trainer Eric Lebrun confirmed to us when saying: “In practicing karate develops self-control, reflection, peace and non-violence. All qualities that will make youth exemplary young citizens. By providing this setting, and allowing access to this sport, the Bluezone helps make these young exemplary citizens”.
