In preparation for the event called « Christmas for Artisans”, the NGO CIFC met craftsmen working in the Multi Purpose Craft Room
The Women’s International Club of Cotonou (ITFC) is a charity founded in 1983. Formed from the outset of Beninese women living in Benin, pursues its goal of development assistance to children and women in Benin. As such, the Club focuses its actions towards the poor.
The club holds an annual event called “Christmas for Artisans,” an exhibition and sale of works of art. An opportunity for them to make themselves known to a large number of visitors, increase sales and thus contribute to improving the living conditions of people in difficulty in Benin, since part of the profits are donated to benefit of social projects.
To that end, a delegation of the association came to meet the craftsmen of the Multi Purpose Craft Room of Zongo Bluezone in order to possibly involve them in the next edition of the art fair.
Among canvas paintings, paintings on clothing, typically Beninese hangings, the visitors were pleasantly surprised by all the artistic achievements made in the Multi Purpose Craft Room. The NGO has appreciated this space that highlights the Beninese craftsmen enabling them to transmit their knowledge to Blueliners.
