On May 2, 2015, Zongo Bluezone opened its doors to Benin populations. Four months after its launch, the milestone of 2,000 members is largely exceeded, thanks to many different activities and events that take place within the area.
“As it is holidays we’re off school, and at the Bluezone you never get bored, there is always an interesting activity you can take part in” told Rachelle, a young student who has just passed bac exam. The membership of Bluezone continues to grow. This enthusiasm is justified by the fact that the Bluezone becomes a favorite spot for young students; it also hosts cultural events during school holidays. Indeed, several promising young Beninese take benefit of the opportunity offered by this place to give shape to their projects. Thus a succession of events took place in August in the multipurpose room: the first edition of the Miss Leadership election, the evening of the 55th anniversary of Independence, the 9th edition of Salsa party by the student band “B2C”, etc.
The organizers thought outside the box and offered colorful performances to Blueliners and the audience. Between musical performances, dances and fashion shows, participants enjoyed programs that entertained them. “To date, I have missed no entertainment offered in the Bluezone and I always go back home delighted” told Edmond, an early Blueliner.
